James "Jim" Monroe McMahan

James “Jim” Monroe McMahan, 60, of Maryville, IL, born September 24, 1951 in Granite City, IL, died Sunday, October 16, 2011 at his residence.

James was a journeyman auto body repairman for many years having worked for the former Dalton Auto Body in Collinsville, and Trucano Auto Body in Collinsville.  He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Maryville, Illinois Wildlife Association Edwardsville Chapter, and was the past president of the Madison County Beagle Club.  He loved fishing, hunting, and anything outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman Monroe and Frances nee Mercer McMahan, and a nephew, Shane McMahan.

Surviving is his wife, Diana nee Fravell McMahan, whom he married June 30, 1972; son, Jim (Stacy) McMahan of Glen Carbon, IL; brothers:  Gary (Vicki) McMahan and Kenneth McMahan both of Sullivan, MO; sister, Sandra (Richard) McLendon of Buena Park, CA; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Visitation:  Friends may call from 4PM to 8PM Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 North Center Street, Maryville, IL and 10AM until time of funeral on Wednesday at the church.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Maryville, IL with Rev. Lee Maxwell officiating.  Burial will be in Hoxsey Cemetery in Alhambra, IL.
