Anna Lea Vaughn, age 93 of Glen Carbon, Illinois, formerly of Wichita, Kansas, peacefully passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Meridian Village Care Center.

She was born April 4, 1930 in Cedar Vale, Kansas, daughter of John and Henrietta Bolton.   She married Thomas Edwin Vaughn on March 1, 1948 in Wichita, Kansas and he preceded her in death in 2017.  Retiring in 1990, she had worked for over 30 years in the construction industry, first at Decker Construction and later as the Vice President for Munn Construction.

Anna and Tom enjoyed 69 years of marriage and most recently attended Dawson United Methodist Church. They enjoyed traveling and for many years they spent the winter months at the Sandcastle Beach Resort in Port Aransas, Texas.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Arthur Vaughn; sisters,  Doris Porter and Margaret Norene Martin; and brother, Robert Thomas Bolton.

Surviving is her daughter, Diana (Russell) Rench of Collinsville, Illinois; five grandchildren:  Elizabeth Anne Dalluge, John Thomas (Kimberly) Mills, Erica Lynn (Amber) Vaughn, Zachary Thomas Vaughn, and Tiffany Lynn Rench; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Private services and interment will be held at Resthaven Mortuary & Gardens of Memory in Wichita, Kansas at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to Habitat for Humanity or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and will be received at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
