Annette
Tennant
Oct 4, 1940 — Nov 3, 2023
Maryville
Annette "Anne" Tennant, age 83, of Maryville, IL, born October 4, 1940 in Cadiz, KY, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023 at DePaul Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Anne cherished family and greatly enjoyed visiting them, and especially so with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She stayed home to raise her boys, lovingly nurturing them in many ways and sharing her faith. When her boys were in high school, she went to college and earned her Licensed Practical Nurse Degree (LPN). After earning her LPN Degree, Anne heard God's call and lovingly served senior citizens while working in nursing homes. Her strong faith has sown many seeds of faith over the years that Our Lord has cultivated, nurtured and harvested. She was a devoted member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Collinsville, serving as an elder, Sunday School teacher, and past deacon. Her public service ministry included the Thrift Shop at the church and delivering Meals on Wheels with her late husband, Chuck, and which she continued after Chuck's passing with her daughter-in-law, Linda.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Spunk and Cora (nee Neebles) Creekmur; husband, Charles "Chuck" Everett Tennant, whom she married August 1, 1959; a sister, Eva Mae Skinner; brother, Jack Creekmur; and stepbrother, Bradley.
Surviving are her two sons, Terry (Linda) Tennant of Glen Carbon, IL and Jeffrey Tennant of Woodland Hills, CO; five grandchildren: Meghann, Abby, Olivia, Charles and Lena; three great-grandchildren: Ellowyn, Eleanor, and Ezryn; and a sister, Evelyn Bourassa of MT and Evelyn's children Sherry, Dale, Pam & Michelle and their families.
Annette's wishes were to be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the First United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Church Street, Collinsville, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with the memorial service to begin at 11:00 a.m.
Memorials may be made to First United Presbyterian Church and will be received at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
