Antoneta "Toni" nee Janca Carpenter, age 83 of Glen Carbon, IL, born June 1, 1932 in Romania, passed away at 5:43 am on Monday, June 29, 2015 at Eden Village Care Center in Glen Carbon, IL.

Toni was a homemaker and was loved by her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dimitri Janca and Marta nee Jan Janca; and a sister, Elisabeth Witt.

She is survived by her spouse, Carl Edward Carpenter, whom she married on May 11, 1963; two sons: Carlton Edward (Kim) Carpenter, Jr. of Germany and David Michael Carpenter of New York; a daughter, Vera Padilla of Florida; five grandchildren: Rebecca, Carlton G. and Alex Carpenter, Joshua Hafenbreidel, and Jaime Halvorson; two great grandchildren: Evelyn and Abigail Halvorson; three brothers: Johann, Bernhardt and Georg Janca of Germany; and a sister, Julianna Janson of Germany.

Visitation will be from 10am to 12pm on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 North Center Street, Maryville, IL.

Funeral service will be at 12 noon following the visitation at the funeral home with Rev. Roger Wright officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
