Arlene Hazel Fritzsche, age 86 of Collinsville, IL, born October 17, 1936 in Cleveland, OH, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023, surrounded by family.

Arlene attained a secretarial degree in 1956 from Manchester College in Warsaw, IN.  She worked at the Collinsville City Water Department for many years.  She enjoyed gardening and sewing, and was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Collinsville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Hazel (nee Hathaway) Rose; her husband, Alfred George Fritzsche, whom she married June 3, 1956; and an infant son, David Fritzsche.

Surviving are her three children:  William (Mary) Fritzsche of Morgan Hill, CA, James (Robin) Fritzsche of Collinsville, IL, and Jeanne (Terence) Burke of Troy, IL; six grandchildren:  Kiersten (Ryan) Lantrip, Lane Fritzsche U.S. Navy, Shay Carter, Chad (Kathryn) Carter, Eric Carter, and Tim Burke; a brother, Lawrence (Karen) Rose of Indianapolis, IN; nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 4 – 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL and 10 – 11 a.m. on Friday, May 26, 2023 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Collinsville.

Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. on Friday with Rev. Michael Walther officiating.  Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Mt. Olive, IL.
