Barbara Suzanne Ligibel, age 48 of Collinsville, IL, born on January 18, 1975 in Belleville, IL, passed away on November 6, 2023 at her residence.

Barbie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and a cherished friend whose radiant spirit touched the lives of everyone she knew. Barbie loved her grandchildren and never stopped talking about them. She was known to have never met a stranger. Barbie will always be lovingly remembered as a source of wisdom, strength, endless laughter, and unconditional love to her sisters.

Barbie was not just a mother and grandmother, she was a beautiful soul who found immense joy in her role as a grandmother. She cherished the precious moments spent with her grandchildren, bringing smiles to their faces with her warmth and love. One of her favorite pastimes was playing Barbie dolls with her granddaughter, creating magical memories that will be treasured forever. Barbie's capacity for love extended far beyond her immediate family. She had a heart as vast as the sky and a kindness that knew no bounds. She strived to maintain loving relationships with her nieces, nephews, and grandchildren, leaving an indelible mark on each of their lives. Her generosity, kindness, and loving nature made her a beloved figure in the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her. In her 48 years, Barbie taught us the importance of love, family, and the enduring power of compassion. In honoring her memory, let us strive to emulate the same love and kindness that she shared so freely, ensuring that her spirit continues to inspire us all.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Courtney Marie Ligibel of Collinsville, IL.

She is survived by her parents Michael Ligibel (spouse Janet) of High Ridge, MO and Terri (Boneau) Ligibel (spouse Don) of Collinsville, IL, as well as her two daughters, Marissa Jeanne Vest-Riley of San Marcos, TX and Kaitlyn Nicole Vest-Wright of Cookeville, TN; her grandchildren, Serenity Marie Rose Riley and Gannon William Riley; her sister, Lorrie Ligibel-Maggard (spouse Larry Maggard); her brother Michael Ligibel (spouse Amy Ligibel) of Troy, IL; her nieces and nephews, Kelsey, Star, Jada, Junior, and Gracie.

Barbie has been cremated and no public service will be held at this time.
