MARYVILLE
Barbara A. Marini, age 87 of Maryville, IL born July 23, 1934 in Jackson, MI, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at the Meridian Village Memory Care in Glen Carbon, IL, with loved ones by her side.
Barbara graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes High School in River Rouge, MI. She was a former member of the 50+ Club and performed in church theatre productions. She was a member of Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Maryville. She was an attentive grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, but most of all, Barbara loved to laugh with her family. Her delightful personality made her fun to be around, and she will be dearly missed by many.
She was blessed with 67 years of marriage to her late husband, John Marini. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Leo Wonsavage and Anna Czajka; a son, David John Marini; and two brothers: William "Billy" Dorchak and Andrew Wonsavage.
She is survived by two sons: Michael Marini of Maryville, IL and Thomas (Gwyndolen) Marini of Glen Carbon, IL; a daughter-in-law, Robin Marini of Sellersburg, IN; eight grandchildren: Christopher (Candice), John, Joseph, Julietta, Weston and Graham Marini, Jason and Rhonda Johnson; five great-grandchildren: Presley, Kingston and Abel Marini, Colin Johnson, and Johnie Adamson; two brothers: Leo (Joy) Wonsavage, Jr. and Ronald Dorchak; two sisters-in-law, Rosina Loyd and Mary Shomsky; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Maryville, IL, with Father Rob Johnson, Celebrant. Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO, beside her husband, John.
Memorials may be made to Mother of Perpetual Help and will be received at the service or can be mailed to the funeral home at 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
