Bernice Joyce Stroud, age 83 of Collinsville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Liberty Village Care Center in Maryville, IL.

Bernice was born on October 29, 1938 in Pilot Grove, MO to the late William and Helen (nee Meyer) Eichelberger.  She married the love of her life, James "Jim" Perley Stroud on February 16, 1957 and he preceded her in death.  Bernice was a retired librarian for the Collinsville Library.  She loved to read, Cardinals baseball, but most of all spending time with her family.

She is survived by her three children, Kevin (Karen) Stroud of Collinsville, Diane (David) Vogler of Maryville, and Jason Stroud of Collinsville; 8 grandchildren, Sara (Ryan) Atchison, Andria (David) Kroot, Mary (Alan Knabe) Stroud, Kacie (Ben) Bruncic, Jamie (Michelle) Vogler, Nick Vogler, Mallory Stroud, and Kelsey Stroud; 7 great-grandchildren, Reagan Atchison, Reed Atchison, Connor Kroot, Eli Bruncic, Bryce Bruncic, Jace Vogler, and Stevie Jayne Knabe.

Private graveside services will be held at Buck Road Cemetery, Maryville, IL.

Memorials may be made in Bernice's honor to the Collinsville Library and will be received at the funeral home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
