Betty Lou (nee Palmer) Pikoriatis Bunder passed into the arms of Jesus on December 29, 2021, at Anderson Hospital, surrounded by her loving daughters. Betty was born in Collinsville on April 2, 1930, in a house on the current property of Webster School Auditorium.
Throughout the years, Betty worked at the Fairmont Hotel, Newberry's, the Gem Store, and the WIC program in E. St. Louis, IL. Betty thoroughly enjoyed her involvement with the senior citizens in Fairview Heights, MESS, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Collinsville.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Lauretta (nee Hadfield) Palmer; infant son, John Robert Pikoriatis; husband, Henry Bunder; ex-husband, John Pikoriatis; brother, Robert Palmer; dear friend, Donald Lehr; and her sweet puppy, Coco.
She is survived by her two daughters, Cheryl Lynn (Jerry) Pace of Collinsville and Laurie Ann (Ross) Jordan of St. Louis; step-son, Michael Bunder of St. Louis; eight grandchildren: Eric Pikoriatis of Collinsville, Amanda Hazel of St. Louis, Danny Fuse of St. Louis, Louis Fuse of St. Louis, Ashley Blaylock of Collinsville, Joshua Pace of Collinsville, Abigail Jordan of St. Louis, and Gabriella Jordan of St. Louis; three great-grandchildren: Caleb Pikoriatis of Collinsville, Lyla Blaylock of Collinsville, and Lyrik Blaylock of Collinsville; nephew, Robert Palmer of San Antonio; and niece, Shannon Palmer-Ripner of Austin.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL. Due to current state restrictions, masks are required to be worn.
Funeral service will follow at 12 noon with Rev. Jim Brinkman officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Collinsville.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Collinsville or APA of Brentwood, MO and will be received at the visitation or can be mailed to the funeral home at 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
