Betty C. (Bahnks) Christensen, age 93, of Collinsville, IL, formerly of Moline, IL, born August 31, 1929, in Rock Island, IL. passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at her residence Addington Place of Collinsville.
Betty was a 1946 Graduate of Geneseo High School. She married Robert C. Christensen (deceased 2014) on October 8, 1948. She held various administrative positions and was very active in the Moline PTA where her children attended school. Her hobbies were cooking, keeping track of her five kids and playing cards with the Bahnks family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester C. (Sr) and Mary A nee Stroud Bahnks; four brothers and three sister-in-laws: Bob (Lavona) Bahnks, Ben (Maggie) Bahnks, Bill (Nancy) Bahnks and Chester C. (Jr) "Chuck".
She is survived by four sons: Steve Christensen of Durham, NC, Chuck (Chris) Christensen of Wellington, FL, Tom Christensen of Hillsborough, NC, and Rick (Lisa) Christensen of Stokesdale, NC; daughter, Jeana (Dan) McFall of Collinsville, IL; 9 grandchildren: Jon (Michelle) Christensen of Rock Falls, IL, Marc Christensen of Moline, IL, Tim (Denise) Christensen of Burbank CA, Eric (Vanessa) Christensen of Wellington, FL, Adam Christensen of Washington DC, Jaime (Trevor) nee Dewaele Lenhart of Lombard, IL, Nick Dewaele of St. Louis, MO, Kirsten and Will Christensen of Stokesdale, NC; 6 great grandchildren: Robby Christensen and Megan (Issac) nee Christensen Lee, Liam and Aubree Christensen, Sophia and Matthew Lenhart, a sister Sharon (Jim) DeBo of Hampton, IL, a sister-in-law Pat Bahnks of Moline, IL and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
There will be a private family memorial at 2pm Saturday, June 3. She will be inurned with her husband in Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline, IL.
