Betty Ann Hoffman, age 87 of Glen Carbon, IL, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.
Betty was born on February 4, 1935 in St. Louis, MO to the late Michael Sr. and Anna (nee Zakrzewski) Kostyshock. She married Raymond R. Hoffman on September 29, 1952 and was a homemaker raising their four boys, Raymond, Steven, Jeffrey and Christopher.
Besides being a sidekick to her husband for many bowling and softball tournaments, she was the happiest when surrounded by family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. The younger grandchildren called her GiGi. She spent many summers caring for her grandchildren and was disappointed when each grew old enough to be on their own. She was a pet lover and was infatuated with the Royal family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; a son, Raymond O. Hoffman; two brothers, Michael Kostyshock and Paul (Joan) Kostyshock.
She is survived by three sons: Steven (Mary Ellen) Hoffman, Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Hoffman and D. Christopher (Kristin) Hoffman; 10 grandchildren: Raymond (Tatiana) Hoffman, John (Le Anne) Hoffman, Evan (Erica) Hoffman, Andy (Megan) Hoffman, Stephanie (Nick) Morrow, Elizabeth Hoffman and Jeongwoo Lim, Justin Hoffman, Owen Hoffman and Reece Hoffman, Katie (Matt) Carenza; 6 ½ great-grandchildren: Arina and Raymond Hoffman, Lincoln and Scarlett Hoffman, Maggie and Christopher Hoffman, and Josephine Mae Hoffman (due in Sept); a brother Edward (Rose) Kostyshock; a sister, Joan (Roy) Wrigley; daughter-in-law, Sandra Hoffman; sister-in-law, Delores Kostyshock; numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial visitation will be on Friday, June 10, 2022 from 9 -10:45 a.m. at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL.
Memorial mass will be at 11 a.m. at Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 200 N. Lange, Maryville, IL with Father Rob Johnson celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Edwardsville, IL.
Memorials are suggested in the form of masses to Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church or Partners for Pets and will be received at the funeral home.
