Betty Jean "Jeannie" Perry, age 90 of Collinsville, IL, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born October 1, 1933 in Durham, NC, the only child to the late Oscar and Margaret (nee Curry) Rigsbee.

Jeannie was a retired secretary from the University of Carolina.  She and her former husband were a military family and traveled a lot.  She was a professional country singer, an animal lover (especially dogs and birds), and enjoyed traveling to the beach.

She is survived by her two daughters:  Victoria (John) Krieg of Freeburg, IL and Cathy (Bill) Schuermann of Collinsville, IL; four grandchildren:  Allen, Jessica, Rachel and Alex; three great-grandchildren:  Olivia, Miles and Vivienne; beloved niece, Suzanne Reiber; and cousin, Scott Evans.

Jeannie's request was to be cremated and no services will be held at this time.
