Bill J. Randolph, age 81 of Maryville, IL, born May 28, 1942 in Mill Creek, IL, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.
Bill graduated from Collinsville High School, Class of 1961. He honorably served in the United States Army in the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment from 1966-1968, serving a year in Vietnam. He retired from Prairie Farms Dairy after 28 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Collinsville, American Legion Post #365, and the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 309. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, cooking, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends.
Bill had a great sense of humor, and loved talking with others…he never met a stranger. He had a generous spirit and volunteered for many years at the Belleville Chili Cook-Off in support of various charities. He also volunteered at First Baptist Church cooking for the men's breakfast, and many other events.
He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Irma Copeland; and grandparents, Frank and Hattie Copeland.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Lana (nee Midyett) Randolph, whom he married June 29, 1963; two daughters: Lisa Randolph of Collinsville, and Lori (Ed) Randolph-Wille of Maryville; grandchildren: Allison Wille and Trent Wille of Maryville, Megan (Andy) Smith of Swansea, Cole (Devan) Wille of Caseyville; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL.
Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Zach Furlong officiating. Entombment with military honors will be at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Glen Carbon, IL.
Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church of Collinsville or BJC Hospice and will be received at the visitation or can be mailed to Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
