Brenda Ann Gasser (nee' Evers), 62, of Collinsville, IL, born on March 19, 1956 at Christian Welfare Hospital in East St. Louis, IL. passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018 at 1:25 p.m. at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL. Brenda was preceded in death by her father, Bernard W. Evers, who died December 20, 2005. Brenda also was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, F.M. Evers and Emma (nee' Rentz) Evers, and maternal grandparents, Otto T. Karrer and Ethel (nee' Brinkhoff) Karrer. Uncle Eugene A. Evers, Palos Verdes Estates, CA and daughter, Kerry Evers, and Aunts Phyllis (nee' Hott) Karrer, Collinsville, IL and Marjorie (nee' Karrer) Meier, Maryville, IL.

She is survived by her mother, Betty E. (nee' Karrer) Evers, Collinsville, IL; husband, Gregory Louis Otto Gasser, Collinsville, IL; her three loving daughters, Mary Elaine Gasser, Osage Beach, MO, Judith Elise (Robert M.) Brown, Collinsville, IL, and Kathryn Elizabeth Gasser, Collinsville, IL; sister, Linda S. (Timothy E.) Lauth, Collinsville, IL; brothers, Timothy E. (Sue) Evers, Collinsville, IL, and Todd M. (Angela) Evers, Collinsville, IL. She is also survived by her nieces, Erika (Alex) Felt, Alexis Evers, and nephew, Drake Evers. Her Uncles Robert Karrer, Collinsville, IL, and Louis (Vivian) Meier, Maryville, IL, and Aunt Tina Evers, Encinatas, CA.  Her surviving cousins are Tom (Mary) Evers, Encinatas, CA, Richard Meier, Maryville, IL, Randy (Debbie) Meier, McLean, IL, Ron (Peggy) Meier, Swansea, IL, and Ruthann (James) Denson, Collinsville, IL.

Education: Brenda attended Holy Cross Lutheran School Collinsville from K-8th grade and graduated in 1970. She attended Collinsville High School and graduated in 1974. She attended St. Louis College of Pharmacy and graduated in 1980 with a B.S. in Pharmacy. Brenda worked at Evers Pharmacy Inc. on Main Street Collinsville from age 16 until she was a pharmacist and worked there until 1987. On May 14, 1983 she married Gregory Gasser at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Collinsville. She then started her family in 1988. Being a mother and homemaker was the LOVE of her life. She went back to the Pharmacy world as a midnight pharmacist at Schnucks Pharmacy Beltline Road in Collinsville for 10 years 1993-2003. After working at Schnucks, she became a caregiver to Grandma Emma and parents, and raising her children.

Brenda was a lifetime member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Collinsville and a longtime volunteer at Holy Cross. Brenda taught 3-year old Sunday School for 48 years, was on the board of worship for at least 12 years, started up again the senior church service 7 years ago, organized the crafts for VBS, worked with apple butter and Wurst Markt. Brenda sat on the Board of Directors at Metro East Lutheran High School, Edwardsville, IL for 8 years.

Visitation: In celebration of Brenda's life, visitation will be held on Sunday, December 2, 2018, 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 304 South Street, Collinsville, IL 62234 and 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday, December 3, 2018 at the church.

Services: Funeral Service will be on Monday, December 3, 2018, 11 a.m., from Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Rev. Kyle Wright II will be officiating. Burial immediately follows at Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery, Collinsville, IL. A funeral meal will follow in Holy Cross's school cafeteria.
