Camilla Schmidt, age 89 of Maryville, IL, born August 17, 1930 in Granite City IL, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Rosewood Care Center in Alton, IL.

Camilla was a 1948 graduate of Collinsville High School. She was a homemaker, and also retired as an Executive Assistant for Memphis City Schools. She was a long-time member of Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis, TN and Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Collinsville, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pat and Almeda ( nee Beasley) Harness; her husband, Gene Schmidt whom she married on August 12, 1950; and a daughter, Debi Rami.

She is survived by three sons: Kurt Schmidt of Silver City, MN, Scott Schmidt of Maryville, IL, and Tracy (Jerri) Schmidt of Katy TX; 6 grandchildren: Traci (Chris) Schmidt; Jeff (Jessica) Rami, Jason (Daly) Schmidt, Josh (Lisa) Schmidt, Ben (Sarah) Schmidt, and Kacey (Brandon) Berry; 16 great grandchildren: Dade, Ronan & Ares Rami; Cade, Bradyn, Foster, Madyson, Maya, Charly, Bode, Georgia, Easton, and Hallie Schmidt; June, Palmer, and Baker Berry; and a son-in-law, Ron Rami.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 21, 2019 at Crossroads Baptist Church, 125 Houston Levee, Eads, TN, officiated by Rev. Rob Mullins. Inurnment will be at Memphis Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Memphis, TN.
