Carol Diane Morgan, 74, of Glen Carbon, Illinois, passed away on April 26, 2026, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in O'Fallon, IL from complications of cancer and chemotherapy.
She was born May 14, 1951, in Vandalia, IL, to the late Wilbur and Vera (nee Wright) Isbell. Carol was a proud graduate of Collinsville High School, Class of 1969. She worked in sales for a recycling companies among other things over the years.
Above all, she treasured her family, especially her grandchildren, Westan and Willa Cochran, who were the light of her life. She had a gift for making others feel welcome and valued, always putting others before herself and offering support, encouragement, and kindness without hesitation.
She was known for her creative spirit and her ability to think outside the box. She had a special way of helping others discover their strengths, guiding them toward new opportunities and encouraging them to pursue their dreams. Her easygoing nature and fun-loving personality made her someone people were naturally drawn to.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Phillip "Phill" Isbell. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend whose presence brought comfort and joy to everyone around her. She had a deep love for painting and drawing, often finding peace and expression through her art. She cherished time spent at the beach, as well as the companionship of her beloved dogs and cats.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Marah Cochran; her son-in-law, Jason Cochran; and her beloved grandchildren, Westan and Willa Cochran.
Her love, creativity, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who knew her. As she always said, "you take care."
A Celebration of Life will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at The Weingarten, 1780 E State Route 15, Belleville, IL 62221.
