Catherine "Kitty" Louise Osborn

Catherine “Kitty” Louise (née Molla) Osborn, devoted wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2026 at EverTrue Meridian Village, Glen Carbon, Illinois. Kitty was a life-long resident of Collinsville, but during the past five years she has resided at EverTrue Meridian Village, Glen Carbon.

Kitty was born on June 18, 1929 in St. Louis, Missouri to Joseph Molla and Eleanor (née Burstrom) Molla. After the early deaths of her parents, she was raised by her foster parents Walter and Leila (née Alexander) Molla.

Kitty married George E. Osborn, Jr. on February 4, 1950. Together they raised their three children - daughter Cindy and two sons, Joe and Don, in Collinsville, Illinois.

Kitty loved to stay busy and was very independent. Her favorite line was “I can do it myself” . . . and she did. While raising their children as a stay at home mom, she made time to be the bookkeeper of George Osborn, Jr. Construction. After George’s retirement, Kitty continued her bookkeeping duties for her two sons’ business along with working at Anderson Hospital with the Ladies Auxiliary. Kitty and George were active members of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville. While their children attended the parish school, Kitty was a Girl Scout Leader, Room Mother and volunteer for their annual parish picnics. Other activities that Kitty enjoyed and participated in were bowling, playing cards and gardening. Kitty loved water sports and especially water skiing. As a family, they were often found boating and camping. Lake of the Ozarks and Sanibel, Florida were two of her favorites and she loved spending time there with her family and friends. Kitty’s special friends, Mary Lou Schultze, Jane Molinar, Genevieve Varda and Thilerna French, were often present during these activities along with lunches and dinners with their husbands.

Kitty’s best role of all was that of wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family completely and unconditionally. Kitty had the spirit of a child with a zest for life. Her “silliness” was her family’s favorite part of her and she always made every moment fun. She often referred to her grandchildren as her “Perfect 7”. She enriched their lives more than words could ever express and they will each carry her love and memories forever in their hearts.

Kitty was proceeded in death by her parents, Joseph and Eleanor Molla; her foster parents, Walter and Leila Molla; her husband of 69 years George E. Osborn Jr.; and granddaughter, Julie Ann Osborn.

Surviving are her children: Cynthia (Stacey) Rogers, Joseph (Kim) Osborn, and Donald (Mary) Osborn; grandchildren: Ashley (Andrew) Busse, Melissa (Anthony) Thogmartin, Scott (Brooke) Osborn, Kayla (Shawn) Hartmann, Kelsey (Kyle) Perkins, Cade (Marissa) Osborn, Cody (Ashley) Osborn; great grandchildren: Henry, Catherine, Lyric, Coco, Cohen, Karissa, Evan, Evie, Keira, Brielle, Aubree, Adley, Leo, Carmen and George. Special friend and caregiver, Autumn Perkins, and numerous nieces and nephews.
