Charles "Charlie" L. Kotarba, age 82 of Collinsville, IL, born August 15, 1939 in East St. Louis, IL, passed away on August 17, 2021.

Charlie retired from Crown Cork & Seal Company.  He was a member of Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Maryville.  In his younger years, he enjoyed playing golf, baseball, football and basketball.  Charlie volunteered at the CMT YMCA for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Sophie (nee Galvin) Kotarba; sister, Joan M. Kotarba; and brother, Joseph Kotarba.

He is survived by his wife, Joan B. (nee Combetto) Kotarba, whom he married September 23, 1971; daughter, Kim Elsberry of Overland Park, KS; and granddaughter, Laurel Elsberry.

Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, Maryville, IL.

Funeral mass will be at 1:30 p.m. at Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 200 N. Lange, Maryville, IL with Father Rob Johnson, Celebrant.  Burial will be in SS Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery, Collinsville, IL.

Memorials may be made in Charlie's honor to the CMT YMCA and will be received at the visitation or can be mailed to the funeral home at 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
