Charles "Chuck" L. Rhoads, age 86 of Collinsville, IL, born March 11, 1937 in Hillsboro, IL, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Alhambra Rehab & Healthcare.
Chuck was a retired civil engineer for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He loved to work on antique cars, trucks, and tractors. Restoring his HUG truck was a highlight in his life. He was a member of various antique car, truck, and tractor clubs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Evelyn (nee Robertson) Rhoads.
Surviving are his wife, Judy (nee Meier) Rhoads, whom he married June 26, 1959; three daughters: Janet (Doug) Iler of Swansea, IL, Laura (Brian) Morries of Collinsville, IL, and Sherri (Steve) Loos of Troy, IL; six grandchildren: Lauren Iler, Collin (Brittany Eifert) Iler, Nathan (Lauren) Morries, Sara (Ryan) Oxford, Justin Loos, and Kyle (Michaela Korte) Loos; five great-grandchildren: Caleb and Georgia Morries, Eva, Lila and Nina Oxford.
Visitation will be 4 – 7 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2024 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at the funeral home with Rev. Nate Bock officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Collinsville.
Memorials are suggested to the Warren Billhartz Animal Shelter or Partners for Pets and will be received at the visitation or can be mailed to Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
