Christopher Howard Allison, age 63 of Maryville, IL born February 7, 1960 in East St. Louis, IL, passed away peacefully on the morning of November 5, 2023 in Maryville, IL.

Chris celebrated life through family. He was the sage and beloved patriarch of a much-loved extensive and blended family. He was always ready with a kind word, pat on the back, or frank advice for anyone who needed it. He and his wife entertained often, and his magical smoking and grilling abilities will be fondly remembered by many. Chris took great pride and interest in his grandchildren's many sports activities.

Chris was an avid outdoorsman and angler. Throughout his life he shared his passion. Whether it be camping with his daughter, hunting with his son, or fishing with his grandsons, Chris enjoyed the beauty of nature and took joy in showing it to others. He greatly enjoyed gardening and sharing the fruits of his labor. He surrounded himself with flowers, and he could coax a bloom out of the most stubborn of seeds.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Patricia (née Zayac) Allison; two sisters, Theresa Stahl and Kelly Miller; and a brother, Steven Allison.

Surviving are his loving wife, soulmate, and best friend of 22 years, Gloria (née Perry); his daughter, Kristi Allison of CA and her sons Kaleb and Cory; his son, Brandon M. Allison of Belleville, IL; his stepdaughter, Devon (Eric) Parrill of Maryville, IL and their children Jackson, Taylor and Carson; stepdaughter, Ashley (Patrick) Darnell of Bethlehem, GA and their daughters Riley and Jaidyn; brother Kirk (Gwen) Allison of O'Fallon, IL; his ever loyal "puppers" Coalbey; and the countless other lives that he touched in the course of his journey.

Memorial visitation will be 1 - 4 p.m. on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL.

Memorial service will follow at 4 p.m.
