Christopher J. Jacobs, 46, of Troy, Illinois, passed away at his home on Thursday, February 19, 2026.
He was born on February 3, 1980, in Belleville, Illinois, to John and Mary (née Stimac) Jacobs. He and Elizabeth "Beth" Thouvenot were united in marriage on October 1, 2005, sharing 20 years of love and family.
Christopher was a proud graduate of O'Fallon Township High School, Class of 1998. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2002. He built a respected career in construction management with the Illinois Department of Transportation.
Chris had a deep love for the outdoors and found joy in camping, hiking, kayaking, and snowboarding. Above all else, he treasured the time he spent with his family, who were the center of his life.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Jacobs.
Christopher leaves behind his loving wife, Beth Jacobs; his two cherished children, Tyler and Avery Jacobs; his mother, Mary Jacobs; and his sister, Carrie (Donald) O'Keefe. He is also survived by Beth's parents, Ken and Carole Thouvenot; his brothers- and sisters-in-law Jeffrey (Ashley) Elchert, Daniel (Ashley) Elchert, Daniel (Mia) Thouvenot, Andrew (Kristi) Thouvenot, and Joseph (Amanda) Thouvenot; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, Illinois.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, with the Very Rev. Jeffrey Goeckner officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Glen Carbon, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family. Donations will be accepted at the visitation or may be mailed to Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
