Daniel Vincent Younger, age 63 of Collinsville IL, born May 15, 1953 in East St. Louis IL, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2017 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville IL.

He worked for numerous years as a groomsman at the former Cahokia Downs and Fairmont Park Racetracks. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and loved to draw.

He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil R. "Nick" Younger, Jr.;two sisters: Carol J. Haase and Julia Kay Younger; and his grandparents.

He is survived by his mother, Doris L. nee Dennigmann Spanholtz ofEdwardsville IL; three sisters: Patricia L. (Gerry) Hinton, Niagara Falls, Canada, Jo Lynn (Kevin) Younger Robinson of Collinsville IL, and Marsha A. (Wayne) Demetrulias of Dupo IL; a brother-in-law, Charles Haase of St. Louis MO; and numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and cousins.

Memorial visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, Maryville, IL.

Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home with Rev. Ron Habermehl officiating.

A private burial will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
