David Lee Hindman, age 86 of Caseyville, IL, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024 at Aspen Creek of Troy.

He was born July 11, 1937 in Rockwood, IL to the late Elmer and Pearl (nee Krug) Hindman.  He retired from Norfolk & Southern Railroad as a switchman, loved drinking coffee with his family, gardening, fishing and hunting.  David will be remembered most for his kind heart and passion for learning about the world around him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda (nee Dethrow) Hindman; two brothers:  Henry and Gary; and a sister, Sarah.

Surviving are his three children:  Dawn (Tom) Vandersloot of Maryville, IL, Melody (Charles) Green, Jr. of Caseyville, IL and Traci (Sean) Robinson of Carlsbad, CA; six grandchildren:  Crystal, Danny, Laura, Jessica, Devan and Ian; four great-grandchildren:  Chelsie, David, Charlotte and Walker.

Memorial visitation will be 4 – 6 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, Maryville, IL.
