David E. Kollmann, age 54 of Collinsville, IL, born December 14, 1964 in Belleville, IL, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019 at his residence.

Dave worked as a pizza chef at the former Papa K's in Collinsville, IL and as a caretaker to his father for many years.  He was a lifelong member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, and later in life, attended lunches at Jerusalem Lutheran Church where he was well known for his famous brownies.  As an adolescent, Dave enjoyed making memories with friends at Camp Ouatoga.

Dave was an avid sports fan who loved the St. Louis Cardinals and was happy to see the St. Louis Blues win the Stanley Cup.  Dave was passionate about basketball and played throughout his life, while following suit with the competitive nature of the Kollmann family, especially during the Holy Cross/ SS Peter & Paul rivalry.

Throughout his life, Dave enjoyed music attending several concerts with Sammy Hagar and Ted Nugent being two of his favorites.

Being a dog lover, Dave appreciated having the companionship of his miniature Schnauzer, Nikki-Daniel and playing with his grand dog, Loki.  During family gatherings of birthdays and holidays, his family would enjoy Dave's love of BBQing and cooking with him throughout the years.

Dave Kollmann was outgoing and a friend to all friends, never having trouble making people feel welcome.  One of the many great things about Dave was how he would light up a room with the ability to tell stories and share memories about family and friends.  Dave's excitability when sharing these memories would have groups of people laughing and sharing in the moment.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Dr. Alvin V. and Jacquelin (nee Briggenhorst) Kollmann; and grandparents.

Surviving is his son, Brian (Chelsea Sams) Kollmann of Grafton, IL; his siblings:  Rev. Dr. Victor J. (Angela) Kollmann of Plano, TX, Sue C. Carney of Collinsville, IL, Dr. Kenneth S. (Sherry) Kollmann of Collinsville, IL, and Richard A. Kollmann of Collinsville, IL; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, July 8, 2019 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Victor J. Kollmann officiating.  Burial will be in Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery, Collinsville, IL.
