Deborah Ann
Wilson
Dec 26, 1956 — Mar 2, 2022
Collinsville
Deborah Ann Wilson, age 65 of Collinsville, IL, born December 26, 1956 in East St. Louis, IL, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at her residence surrounded by family.
Debbie graduated Collinsville High School in 1975. She worked at the former Grandpa Pidgeon's in Collinsville for many years in a variety of roles. Later in life she taught preschool at Troy United Methodist. She delighted in the laughter and whimsy of children. She sought to nourish their imaginations and creativity. And so it seems appropriate that in her life she found the greatest joy and deepest fulfillment in her role as a mother.
Her own creative spirit integrated itself into every aspect of her life. She was a dynamic and generous soul that cared deeply for all orders of living things. A lover of all animals, she had a particular adoration of hummingbirds. She loved the sun on her face.
Debbie's love for the people in her life and especially her family was fierce and unconditional.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth M. Wilson, whom she married on October 27, 1979; her parents Alva Dale and Joyce Clyde (nee Randall) Jordan; two brothers: Gene and Dale Jordan; and a sister, Pamela Guithues.
She is survived by her three children: Sara Ann Wilson of Collinsville, Margaret Elaine "Maggie" (Brian Michael Jesse) Wilson of Collinsville and Elliott Richard (Rachel Navarro) Wilson of Aurora, CO; beloved grandson, Rowan Conrad Jesse; two sisters: Kim (David) McGrath of Ozark, MO and Cheryl Benne of Lake of the Ozark, MO; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 3 – 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, Maryville, IL 62062.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 7, 2022 at the funeral home with Rev. Dave Roderick officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Fairview Heights, IL.
Memorials may be made in Debbie's honor to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Partners for Pets and will be received at the visitation or can be mailed to the funeral home at 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
