Debra Kay Myers, age 71, of Troy, IL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 26, 2025, while surrounded by her family. Deb was born on February 16, 1953, in Granite City, IL, a daughter of the late Sherwin and Betty (Hinkle) Martin.
Deb cherished her family and grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and caregiver. Rarely, did her needs ever come before anyone else's. Deb retired from the State of Illinois after over 25 years of service. Before working for the State, she was a beautician, owning her own beauty shop in Granite City, IL. Deb enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, working in the yard, taking long walks, Corvette rides, and being a snowbird by spending winters in Destin, FL with her husband. She was a member of the Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Maryville, IL.
In addition to her parents, Deb was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Neal, and first husband of 30 years, Gary Mendenhall.
Deb is survived by her husband, Danny Myers; her children, Eric Mendenhall, Mark Mendenhall, and Teri and Chris Havron; grandchildren, Tyler and Andrew Mendenhall, and Lukas and Logan Havron; nephew, Tony (Nikole) Neal; niece, Tricia (Al) Fagan; and extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, Maryville, IL.
Funeral service will follow at 12 noon with Father Rob Johnson officiating. Deb will be laid to rest at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Glen Carbon, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Maryville Christian School for the benefit of the Havron family.
