Dema Faye Weinacht, age 92 of Collinsville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.
She was born on May 27, 1930 in E. St. Louis, IL to the late Herman and Lottie (nee Northcut) Dressel. In her younger years, she worked for the former Burger Chef and Newberry's Department Store in Collinsville. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Collinsville for many years. She enjoyed spending her time volunteering in the many groups at church and delivering Meals on Wheels. Her favorite time spent was with her family during the many family gatherings and celebrations. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were so special to her. She was so proud of them all. Her other joy was her feline companion, Kisses.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Weinacht, Sr.; a son, Leroy Weinacht, Jr.; a granddaughter, Tina McMaster; two sons-in-law, Tony Huff and Gordon McMaster; a brother, Larry Dressel; and a sister, Georgia Baker.
Surviving are her two daughters, Beverly McMaster and Suzanne Huff, both of Collinsville; a daughter-in-law, Lorine Weinacht; five grandchildren: Christopher (Meghan) Huff, Paige Huff, Melissa (Owen) Wolfe, Chantal Jansen and Melissa McMaster; 16 great-grandchildren: Jarryn, Jordan, Drew, Breana, Sydney, Donovan, Cameron, Ethan, Hunter, Haylee, Madyson, Braydon, Delyla, Brynleigh, Remington and Jaxtyn; her godson, Kevin Weinacht; special friend, Mary Ellen Dematties; numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Friday, March 3, 2023 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL.
Memorial service will follow at 12 noon. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Fairview Heights, IL.
Memorials are suggested to St. John UCC and will be received at the visitation or can be mailed to Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
