Donna Sue Kober, 78, of Collinsville, IL, peacefully passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Mercy South Hospital in St. Louis, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on January 6, 1948, in Steeleville, IL, to the late Elmer and Selma (née Dierks) Schrader. Donna was baptized into Christ on January 18, 1948 and confirmed on April 15, 1962, both at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Steeleville. She married Kenneth Alan Kober, her high school sweetheart, on August 31, 1969, also at St. Mark's. He preceded her in death on May 12, 2022.

Donna was a graduate of Steeleville High School and dedicated her life to caring for her family as a homemaker. She was a devoted member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Collinsville, where she actively served on numerous boards and committees. Donna also worked as an early childhood aide at the Good Shepherd Early Childhood Center and was previously employed part time at the former Cards Plus Hallmark store in Collinsville. She generously gave her time as a volunteer with Cardinal Care and was a faithful member of the LWML. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly and cherished the opportunity to attend their sports, concerts, and other activities.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Ellie Roth; her brother, Kenneth Schrader; and her sister, Kathryn Ruth Schnoeker.

Donna is survived by her loving children: Aaron (Caroline) Kober of Collinsville, IL; David Kober of Edwardsville, IL; Jennifer (Mark) Roth of Perryville, MO; and Amanda (Jon) Koenig of Frohna, MO. She will be deeply missed by her ten beloved grandchildren: Emma, Elise, Cole, and Effie Roth; Jacob, Emily, Alexis, and Caleb Kober; and Isaac and Noah Koenig, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL, and from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Collinsville.

The funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m. at the church and will be officiated by Rev. Andrew Packer and Rev. Andrew Gray. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery in Collinsville.
