Doreen Allen, 67, of Collinsville, IL, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, MO.

Born March 16, 1958, in Chicago, IL, Doreen lived a life grounded in kindness, quiet strength, and a deep appreciation for nature. She worked for many years as a waitress, where her warm demeanor and caring spirit left a lasting impression on those she served.

A passionate nature lover, Doreen found joy in the simple pleasures of bird and deer watching. Her greatest happiness, however, came from the time she spent with her beloved grandchildren, who brought light and love into her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Phyllis (nee Chapman) Hughes; her husband, Robert Allen; her son, Lester Malley, Jr.; and six siblings.

Doreen is survived by her son, Lonnie (Ashleigh) Rouse of Collinsville, IL; and six cherished grandchildren: Heidi Rouse, Robert Larson, Alyssa Malley, Kash Malley, Peyton Belyeu, and Addison Crain.

In accordance with her wishes, no public services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the TreeHouse Wildlife Center and will be received at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
