Dorothy "Dottie" Caroline Wiemann, age 91 of Maryville, IL, born April 16, 1928 in Damiansville, IL, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at her residence surrounded by family.
Dottie had worked in retail sales. She was a member of Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Maryville, IL, involved in the Alter Society, Ladies Auxiliary and Red Hat Society. She enjoyed her Red Hat luncheons, playing bingo and cards with friends, but most of all loved spending time with her family. Her family was her life. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and was dearly loved.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Richard Wiemann, Jr.; her parents, Bernardus Benedictus and Mary Philomena nee Neff Spihlmann; two sisters and their spouses: Emelia (Maurice) Heimann and Marie (Norbert) Albers; five brothers and their spouses: Raymond (Annie) Spihlmann, Leo (Lucille) Spihlmann, Bernard (Marie) Spihlmann, Clarence Spihlmann and Richard Spihlmann; step brothers and sisters and their spouses: Edward "Artie" (Mary Jane) Thoele, Alvin (Mary Ann) Thoele, Walter (Ella Mae) Thoele, Cornelius (Bernice) Kniepmann and Arnold Heimann; two brothers-in-law: Alvin "Abbie" Albers and Donald M. Wiemann.
She is survived by her daughter, Lynn M. (Bradley) Hemann of Maryville, IL; three grandchildren: Zachary, Caroline and Nicholas Hemann; a sister, Henrietta Albers of Germantown, IL; a step sister, Mary Ann Heimann; three sisters-in-law: Rosie Spihlmann of Damiansville, IL, Ann Wiemann of Chesterfield, MO and Judy Wiemann of Maryville, IL; many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, Maryville, IL.
Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 200 N. Lange, Maryville, IL with Father Joseph Havrilka celebrant. Private burial will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Fairview Heights, IL.
Memorials may be made to the MPH Ladies Auxiliary and will be received at the funeral home.
