Douglas William Willett, 64, of Collinsville, IL, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026, at his residence.

He was born June 15, 1961, in Belleville, IL, to the late Joseph "Bud" Willett and Nancy Lee (nee Chapman) Willett. Doug attended SS Peter & Paul Catholic Grade School and graduated from Collinsville High School, Class of 1979. He continued his education at Parks College of St. Louis University, where he attained a degree in Aviation Maintenance and Modification and a Quality Certification.

Doug retired from L3 Communications as a Senior Quality Engineer after many years of service. Doug was an avid collector of knives since he was a young man.

He is survived by his brother, David Joseph Willett (Lynn) of Powell, OH as well as nieces and nephews and many cousins.

Memorial visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2026 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL. Memorial service will follow officiated by Father Michael Haag. Inurnment will be in SS Peter &  Paul Catholic Cemetery, Collinsville, IL.
