Duane was preceded in death by his parents, Doris and Wilbur Bridenbaugh, of Ohio.

He is survived by his life partner, Martha Pooley; his son, Greg (Janine) Bridenbaugh of Edwardsville; his daughter, Stephanie Bridenbaugh of Switzerland; his sister, Carolee Boardman of Texas; grandchildren, Emily and Andrew Bridenbaugh; and former wife, Tonia Bridenbaugh.

Family and friends will remember Duane as a university professor who, in the 1970's, taught in the emerging field of Human Services.  In 1980 he became a residential contractor with an emphasis on preservation and restoration.  He was held in high esteem by many, as a mentor and loyal friend.
