Dwayne "Boone" Carl Chaney, age 83 of Collinsville, IL passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025, at HCA Florida Blake Hospital in Bradenton, FL.

He was born October 26, 1941, in Ridgway, IL to the late Thomas and Mary Ruth (nee Lang) Chaney. He honorably served in the United States Army Reserves. He attained a Bachelor of Science in Business Education from Eastern Illinois University. Boone taught 7th grade math and coached 7th grade basketball at Grigsby Junior High School in Granite City, IL, and was the varsity golf coach at Granite City High School. He loved playing golf with his friends in the skins game at Arlington Greens Golf Course.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann (nee DuHadway) Chaney, whom he married April 12, 1969; a son, Michael (Holly) Chaney; two grandchildren: Rylee and Cambree Chaney; a brother, Gaylen Chaney; a sister Verla Cushman; and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and time to be announced.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association, American Lung Association and the Granite City High School Golf Team. They will be received at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
