Edward J. Palmisano, Jr., age 76 of Collinsville, IL, born July 8, 1946 in St. Louis, MO, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at his residence with family by his side.

Edward honorably served in the U.S. Army.  He was a retired horse trainer from Fairmont Park Racetrack, loved betting the horses, going to casinos and playing the slot machines and Blackjack.  He and his wife, Dorothy, were on the first Alton Belle Casino cruise.  He enjoyed watching his grandsons' sporting and scouting events.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward J. Sr. and Antionette (nee DiMaggio) Palmisano; and two brothers, Michael and Richard Palmisano.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy (nee Ledesma) Palmisano; two sons, Edward "Eddie" (Kristen) Palmisano of Maryville, IL and Bobbie Palmisano of Collinsville, IL; three grandchildren:  Nickolas "Nick", Vincent "Vince" and Edward "Eddie"; a brother, Terry (Liz) Palmisano of MO; a sister, Aggie (Kevin) Doe of MO; a sister-in-law, Pietrina Palmisano; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL.

Funeral service will follow at 12 noon with Father John Beveridge officiating.  Burial with military honors will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
