Edward Donald Wortman, age 69 of Collinsville, IL, born April 16, 1954 in East St. Louis, IL, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Memorial Care Center in Belleville, IL.

Edward was a 1972 graduate of Greendale High School.  He worked in the construction industry as a mechanical estimator until retiring.  He loved watching NASCAR and was involved in stock car racing, and midget car racing in St. Louis.  He was a huge music lover and always had music playing in his home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Leonard and Dorothy (nee Donald) Wortman; his wife, Tammy (nee Currat) Wortman, whom he married on October 21, 1989; and a sister, MaDonna Wortman.

Surviving are his two daughters:  Sarah Wortman of Collinsville and Katie (Dan) Walsh of Milwaukee, WI; a son, Jacob Wortman of Collinsville; three grandchildren:  Lola Wortman, Leo and Wesley Walsh; two brothers:  William "Bill" (Judy) Wortman and Charles Jenkins; and sister, Susan Triplett; many nieces and nephews; his canine companion, Duke, who will miss his belly rubs, and his grandcat Charlie "Chuck".

His wishes were to be cremated and a private burial will be held in St. John's Cemetery at a later date.
