Obituary

Elisabeth Anne Cochran, age 80 of Glen Carbon, IL, passed away on March 20, 2025 surrounded by her loving family at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Elisabeth was born in Sheffield, United Kingdom to her late parents, Gordon David Hallam and Anne Aubrook (nee Steel) on November 5, 1944, in Sheffield, United Kingdom. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harry "Paul" Cochran whom she married on June 20, 1971.

Elisabeth was a very active member of First Presbyterian Church in Edwardsville, IL where she was loved singing in church choir. She was a member of PEO and supporter of SIYAO. Elisabeth graduated with a master's degree in education from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville in 1995.

She is survived by five children: Stephen P. Cochran, Brian B. Cochran, Robin (Jim) Cochran-Dirksen, Iain P. (Julie) Cochran, and Allan D. (Jen) Cochran; nine grandchildren: Robert, Nichole, Justin, Kevin, Gabe, Ross, Corinne, Delaney and Harper;  one great-grandchild: Finley; one brother: Stephen (Gaye) Hallman; three nephews: Mark, Andrew, and David.

Memorial Visitation will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 3601 Ridge View Road, Edwardsville, IL on Saturday, March 29, 2025 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

Memorial Service at 11:00 am, officiated by Rev. Joy Myers with a luncheon to follow.
