Elizabeth "Liesel" Bartsch, age 91 of Maryville, IL, born November 15, 1922 in Frankfort Am Main, Germany passed away at 4:18 pm on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the Eden Village Care Center in Glen Carbon, IL.

Elizabeth was a mother and a homemaker. She enjoyed oil and china painting, exercising, traveling with her husband, and was a former volunteer of the Anderson Hospital Auxiliary in Maryville, IL.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Peter Bartsch, whom she married on March 6, 1954; her parents, Alfred Utry and Katharina nee Schappel Utry; a son, Ralph Bartsch, and a brother, Hermann Utry.

She is survived by a son, Michael (Julie) Bartsch of Maryville, IL; a daughter, Stephanie (Myrranda Gray) Bartsch of Peoria, AZ; two grandchildren: Michelle (Corbin) Hackley and Andrew Bartsch of Maryville, IL.

Visitation will be from 11am to 1pm Monday, April 21, 2014 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 North Center Street, Maryville, IL.

Funeral service will be at 1pm Monday from the funeral home with Fr. Ed Schaefer officiating. Entombment will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Fairview Heights, IL.

Memorials may be made to the Anderson Hospital Auxiliary or the Shrine of our Lady of the Snows.
