Elizabeth Ann Cyganowicz passed away at Liberty Village on May 1, 2022 in Maryville, Illinois with her loving husband by her side. Elizabeth was an exceptionally loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece and friend. Elizabeth was adored by everyone she met.

After marrying the love her life, James on February 4, 1967, she received her degree from Purdue University and became a 5th grade teacher. Shortly after beginning her career as a teacher she had her first daughter and Elizabeth decided it was time to be the best stay at home mom ever.  She was always volunteering wherever she could, at her daughters' schools, church, the local food pantry, meals on wheels, etc., and continued to substitute teach on and off throughout the years. Elizabeth always greeted everyone with a smile and had a wonderful sense of humor.  She had a love for craft fairs, shopping, and putting together amazing holidays for her family. Elizabeth's devotion to the Catholic Church, love, kindness, and generosity will never be forgotten and touched many people's lives.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, J.W. Oxford and Betty Oxford; her In-laws, Peter Cyganowicz and Dorothy Cyganowicz; and her beloved sister, Barbara.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jim, and two daughters, Kristy and Amy.

We love you and will miss you, but know our loss is Heaven's gain, and we will meet again. Special thank you to our amazing personal caregivers, Louise, Nina, Michelle & Nancy.

Memorial visitation will be 9 - 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL.  Memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. with Father Rob Johnson officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to the Glen Ed Food Pantry, Maryville Food Pantry, or the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
