Florence L. Turner, age 91, of Foley, AL, formerly of Maryville, IL, born August 20, 1931 in Pampa, TX, passed away on January 17, 2023 at her residence in Foley, AL.

Florence enjoyed being a homemaker.  She was a former member of Troy United Methodist Church and after moving to Alabama, she was an active member of Morgan's Chapel United Methodist Church in Bon Secour, AL, where she participated in their food ministry.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Roselyn (Greenley) Gill; her husband, Dean E. Turner, whom she married on October 10, 1954; and a brother, Kenneth Gill.

She is survived by a son, Russell (Pearl) Turner of Deerfield Beach, FL; a daughter Terri (Mash) Cook of Foley, Al; a granddaughter, Payton Turner and step-grandson, Taylor Dodge, both of Deerfield Beach, FL; a sister, Kathryn Jack of TX; and three loving nephews and their families.

Visitation will be 10 - 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Troy United Methodist Church in Troy, IL.

Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dennis Price officiating.  Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Glen Carbon, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to UMCOR or the National Parks System, and will be received at the visitation or may be mailed to Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville IL 62062.
