Floyd Eason, age 89 of Troy, IL, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at his home surrounded by family.

He was born March 23, 1934, in Hornbeak, TN to the late Earnest and Mary, nee Long, Eason.

On his 19th birthday, he met the love of his life, Dixie Jean, nee Imogene, at the roller rink. They married on March 27th, 1954. They spent 69 wonderful years together, until her passing on August 29, 2023.

Floyd was a bottler at Anheuser Busch, where he retired from. He enjoyed baseball and gardening.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Larry Eason; five brothers: Emmert Eason, Dale Eason, Berlin Eason, Elmer Eason, Lloyd Eason; and three sisters: Myrtle Duncan, Novella Higgins, and Nelsie Scheland.

Surviving are his daughters: Margaret Eason of Troy, IL, and Shirley Kirk of Troy, IL; son, David Eason of Troy, IL; eight grandchildren: Bonnie, Alyssa, Sara, Elizabeth, Dixie, Chandler, Kaleb, and Amanda; five great-grandchildren: Brett, Jaylin, Zachery, Alex, and Austin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Floyd's wishes were to be cremated, and a graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Buck Road Cemetery in Maryville, IL.
