George Patrick John, age 76, of Maryville, IL, born December 20, 1945, in East St. Louis, IL, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.

George was a retired truck driver and a Navy veteran.  He really enjoyed riding his Harley Davison and traveling with his wife Sandy.

He was preceded in death by his parents Norman and Mildred (nee Hammond) John.

He is survived by his loving wife; Sandra (nee Phillipson) John, a daughter; Amanda (Robert) Simpson of Imperial, MO, a son; Craig John of Staunton, IL, four grandchildren; Gavin, Damon (Kaitlynn) Chandler (Shaine), and Emmilee, six great grandchildren; Kaeden, Ryker, Knox, Colt, and two on the way, and his sister.

Graveside service with military honors will be held at 11am on Friday, February 18, 2022, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.
