Fannie Mae "Grace" Jones, age 88 of Maryville, IL, passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at her residence.

She was born September 5, 1934 in Eldred, IL to the late George and Bertha (nee Camerer) Hodgerson.  She married Melvin E. Jones on June 3, 1951 and he preceded her in death. Together they had four boys, Richard, Mark, Brian and Jeff.

Grace had worked in the Collinsville Community School District 10 in the cafeteria at Maryville Elementary School, after a long career with the Teamsters Union as a billing clerk. She was a Christian, kindhearted, and very giving.  She enjoyed landscaping their home and loved her family dearly.

In addition to her parents and husband (Melvin), she was preceded in death by two sons: Richard and Mark Jones; and 10 siblings.

Surviving are her two sons: Brian "Scott" Jones of Maryville, IL and Jeff (Angela) Jones of Godfrey, IL; 11 grandchildren:  Samantha, Greg (Beth), Melissa (John), Jennifer (Ron), Bethany (Stephen), Bryan (Amity), Brittany (Chaz), Nick (Madison), Tony, Lonny, and Robby (Jamie); 12 great-grandchildren:  Josh (Misty), Hanna, Mason, Reed, Elijah, Marlee, Sawyer, Elowen,  R.J., Sam, Serenity, and Christian; numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL.
