Obituary

Harold William Waymire, 97, of Collinsville, IL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at Liberty Village in Maryville, IL.

He was born on May 6, 1929, in St. Louis, MO, to the late Harold Monroe Waymire and Katherine (née Elder) Jolley.

Harold proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Navy. Following his military service, he built a successful career as a project manager and mechanical contractor.

In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Alice (née Kuziel) Waymire; his son, Thomas Michael Waymire; and his sister, Robin Waymire.

He is survived by his sister, Sharon (Dennie) Price of Collinsville, IL; his brother, Stanley (Doris) Waymire of Baldwin, MO; his three stepdaughters, Pat (Tom) Cooper of Dallas, GA; Tarye (Don Buckalew) Nash of Charlotte, NC; and Kathy (Kevin) Bradford of Santa Rosa Beach, FL; his grandchildren, Michael Waymire and Crystal Waymire; and numerous additional grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, August 24, 2026 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO, where military honors will be accorded in recognition of Harold's faithful service to his country.

Memorial donations are suggested to the Collinsville Food Pantry and may be mailed to Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2500 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
