Iola L. Crowley, age 93 of Maryville, IL, passed away on January 8, 2024 at Elmwood Nursing Home in Maryville.

She was born May 19, 1930 in Supply, AR to the late Owen and Edna (nee Jones) Duff.  Iola graduated from Doniphan High School in Doniphan, MO.  She married William Eugene Crowley on March 24, 1951 and was a homemaker raising their two daughters, Marie and Charlotte.  She was involved in the PTA when her daughters were in school.

Iola was a long-time member of Bellefontaine Baptist Church in Bellefontaine Neighbors, MO where she was very involved as a former Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher.  When William and Iola moved to Maryville, they joined First Baptist Maryville where she served as  treasurer of timeless treasures, volunteered countless hours at the food pantry, and made and delivered food baskets to the needy.  She had a heart of gold.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William, after 55 years of marriage; and infant siblings.

Surviving are her two daughters: Marie (Michael) Smith of Collinsville, IL and Charlotte (John) Davis of Godfrey, IL; two grandchildren:  Nathaniel and Rebekah Smith; a brother, William "Truel" Duff of Belton, MO; and a sister, Doris (Ed) Marion of Troy, MO.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville.

Funeral service will follow at 12 noon  Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
