James E. DuVall III, age 43 of Gillespie, IL, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2022 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.

James loved working on cars, tinkering in the garage, and making things.  He loved being with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, James E. DuVall Jr; great-grandparents, Curtis and Mary Aileen Brooks.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer (nee Zimmerlee) DuVall, whom he married December 10, 1997; three children:  Valerie (Michael) Shepard of Fairview Heights, IL, Andrea (Caleb) Crone of Quantico, VA and Curtis DuVall of Gillespie, IL; three grandchildren:  Kevin Shepard, Alaina Shepard and Chloe Crone; grandmother, E. Kay DuVall of Collinsville, IL; brother, John Illies of TN; a sister, Amber DuVall of University City, MO; a niece, Madilyn Smith, and great aunt, Diana (Tom Kanzler) Brooks of Collinsville, IL.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, Maryville, IL.

Funeral service will follow at 12 noon with Chaplain Royal Boeder officiating.  Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Fairview Heights, IL, at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the American Kidney Fund or a contribution to the family and will be received at the visitation or can be mailed to Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL.
