James Kirkman Franklin, Jr., age 73 of Troy, IL, born May 19, 1950 in Peoria, IL, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.
James retired from Nooter Corporation in St. Louis, MO as a master welder and shop steward, and the Boilermakers local 27. He honorably served in the United States Army and was a member of the Troy VFW Post #976. James was a semi-pro bowler, enjoyed fishing, camping at Rend Lake, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Kirkman Franklin Sr., Willie and Ruby Leona (nee Linzy) Hall; and a sister, Sue Hearty.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia (nee Thornton) Franklin, whom he married May 16, 1992; two daughters: Sarah (Randall) )White of Maryville, IL and Ashley (Joseph) Pashea of Owensboro, KY; four grandchildren: Juno, Jack, Ava and Bodhi; two brothers: Kevin Hall and Keith (Marsha) Hall of Dupo, Il ; a sister, Nora (James) LaCroix of Dupo,Il; and numerous nieces and nephews.
James wishes were to be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Memorials are suggested to the Troy VFW Post #976 and will be received at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
