James H. "Wally" Price, age 84, of Collinsville, born May 9, 1934 in Zanesville, OH, passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at his residence surrounded by family.

Wally graduated from Collinsville High School in 1952 and served in the United States Coast Guard. He retired from Granite City Steel where he worked as a scheduler. He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ and Collinsville American Legion Post 365; he enjoyed boating and fishing, was an Ohio State Buckeye fan, and loved music.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Mary Louise ( nee Bone) Price, and a sister, Betty Altom.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Rae ( nee Ackermann) Price; a daughter, Michele Anderson of Maryville; two grandchildren: Kathryn (Roy) Horbett and Mitchell (Sara) Anderson; five great grandchildren: Aubree, Jaden, Cameron, Aliyah, and Adaline; two brothers: Robert Price of Collinsville, IL, and Thomas (Jean) Price of Edwardsville; and two sisters: Sharon Deatherage of Memphis, TN, and Delores Horstman of St. Louis, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held at a later date.
