James Michael Knabe, age 66 of Collinsville, IL, born January 3, 1958 in Granite City, IL, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL surrounded by his family.

James was an electronic engineer at EDF Group (former Bick Group).  He enjoyed his work, horse racing, and music.  Most of all he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Wayne and Emma Jean (nee Vaughn) Knabe; and is survived by his loving wife, Becky (nee Phillips) Knabe, whom he married December 27, 1980; three sons:  Craig (Sairee) Knabe of Glen Carbon, IL, Daniel (Karen) Knabe of Troy, IL, and Alan (Mary Stroud) Knabe of Troy, IL; eight grandchildren:  Grace, William, Danielle, Kenley, Kallie, Stevie, Peyton and Brianna; and a sister, Linda Gammon of Ashley, IL.

James wishes were to be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at the American Legion Post 435 Hall, 190 South Main Street, Glen Carbon, IL on September 1, 2024 from 4pm to 8pm.

Memorials may be made in his honor to Shriner's Hospital and will be received at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
