James "Jim" Perley Stroud, age 84 of Collinsville, IL, passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.

Jim was born on April 21, 1936 in Prole, IA to the late James and Lois (nee Lee) Stroud, one of three children.  He married the love of his life, Bernice (nee Eichelberger) Stroud, on February 16, 1957 and together they have three children, Kevin, Diane and Jason. He retired after 37 years of service from East Side Lumber Yard Supply.  Jim enjoyed gardening, playing horseshoes, and liked to BBQ. He was a caregiver to his wife, a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather.  He will be deeply missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Doris.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice; three children, Kevin (Karen) Stroud of Collinsville, Diane (David) Vogler of Maryville, IL, and Jason Stroud of Collinsville, IL; 8 grandchildren, Sara (Ryan) Atchison, Andria (David) Kroot, Mary Stroud, Kacie (Ben) Vogler-Bruncic, Jamie (fiancé Michelle Bearley) Vogler, Nick Vogler, Mallory Stroud and Kelsey Stroud; 4 great-grandchildren, Reagan  Atchison, Reed Atchison, Connor Kroot and Eli Bruncic; and a sister, Thelma Crabtree of Smith Grove, KY.

Private graveside services will be held at Buck Road Cemetery, Maryville, IL.

Memorials may be made in Jim's honor to the Collinsville Food Pantry and will be received at the funeral home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
