Obituary

Jane Lee Molinar, age 95 of Collinsville, IL, passed away on Saturday June 8, 2024, at Addington Place of Collinsville.

Jane was born May 25, 1929 and was a lifelong Collinsville resident and daughter of the late Arthur and Ruth Fischer. A 1947 graduate of Collinsville High School. Jane married Louis Molinar on June 18, 1949 and they enjoyed 63 years together before his death in 2012. She was also preceded in death by one sibling Arthur and one son Arthur Louis Molinar.

She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to many.  Jane, along with caring for and raising 3 boys, was an avid gardener and loved working in her yard and was a long-time member of the Lakeview Acres Garden Club. Preparing meals and entertaining family and friends at her home was her passion.  She loved the summertime and being by her pool and enjoying time in the sun. She was very caring and always ready to serve and help others, never about herself.  She was the one who took her grandkids to Six Flags and went on the roller coasters with them – fearless.  As her family grew and some moved to other parts of the country, everyone always looked forward to "coming home" to spend time with her, knowing that she would embrace them and show them the love that was always unabashed.

Jane worked at Collinsville Unit-10 for many years, enjoying her time there while making many long-term friends with both co-workers and students. After retirement there, she went on to another career working at Fairmount Park Racetrack.

She is survived by two of her three children: Michael (Vicki) Molinar of Collinsville, IL, Louis (Sue) Molinar of Canton, GA; daughter in law: Cathy Molinar; nine grandchildren: Amanda Molinar, Erin (Dusty) Gehrt, Matthew Molinar, Sam (Katie) Molinar, Staci Molinar, Kevin Molinar, Christine (James) Anderson, Laura (Cody) Gertz, Sarah Molinar; six great-grandchildren: Anabelle, Charlotte, Wesley, Natalie, Lennon, Carson, and a sister Judy Fischer Hendricks.
